About The Elected Committee of Managers
The Elected Committee of Managers (ECM) is a federally mandated committee that is representative of all blind licensees in the Business Enterprises of Texas program (BET). The ECM is elected to office by managers participating in the BET program. The ECM works with the Director of BET to fulfill their responsibilities. The ECM’s responsibilities include participating in major administrative decisions and the policy and program development of BET, receiving grievances of blind licensees and serving as advocates for such licensees, participating in the development and administration of a transfer and promotion system for blind licensees, participating with the development of training and retraining programs, and sponsorship, with the assistance of BET, of meetings and instructional conferences for blind licensees.
